nico/seiga download search guide by AkemiWhy nico/seiga download search guide by AkemiWhy

please for the love of all that is good read the edit, it'll tell you how to make the links work. i'm not sure whats going on and i dont know how to fix it, but i've described a way for you to use the links anyway. please read it before asking questions about the links.

LAST UPDATED: 3/27/2017

EDIT: if links are not working for you, my wild guess is that your computer is set to an English locale and isn't taking the japanese characters in the url. this can be easily remedied;
a link should say something like
nicovideo.jp/tag/somethingsomething

the something may appear as several other characters, such as "MMD%E8%A3%85%E9%A3%BE%E3%82%A2%E3%82%AF%E3%82%BB".

simply copy the japanese characters i've provided which link to the tag (select it and ctrl+c or right click and copy), go to the space after /tag/ and replace the somethingsomething/random characters with the japanese text. the links should work in that format. you could also switch your locale to japanese, but you don't have to.

because yall honestly need to stop taking stuff off nico/seiga and reposting it to dA for one, and two half the time when ppl repost shit theyre late as hell and the thing will have already been out for weeks and honesty? do u really want to sit and wait in the MMD tag for someone to repost what u need, or would u rather be on the ball and be able to search immediately and find at least something that fits your needs???

i stalk the mmd distribution tags on seiga a LOT because you can get some crazy good stuff there. its for this reason mainly that i dont have to rely on dA users for things i need, and why the days of using 3DCG anything are long behind me (apart from one or two various items present in room models which i couldnt find a decent equivalent of on nico)
a lot of nico/seiga users make some really neat stuff and they honestly need more recognition

there are some guidelines and at the very end of the description ill mention a few other things

things to note before you get started:
-every modeler has their own rules. please read their readmes thoroughly and carefully. if the readme is entirely in japanese, use a translator!! (i tend to favor systranet, because it gives me more information i feel than google translate does. although for complicated things i tend to use both systranet and google translate together to make sure something has a mostly accurate translation) if the readmes look like theyre written in gibberish (probably because your system may not be set to a japanese locale, which is fine!) you're in luck, because if you upload the readme to google translate, it still translates!! wow!! try it, its actually pretty cool. the most important part here is please follow every modelers rules!!! they're generous enough to share their stuff with us, the least we can do is follow their guidelines! do not even sit in the comments and complain about it there is no excuse for breaking anyone's rules and if you intend to ignore the rules, i'd like to kindly ask you to leave this page and go on your way.
-if the items you're looking at are clothes or parts to add to a model, i'd suggest opening it in pmd/x FIRST and testing it out. i'll also suggest that if it's something with physics like a skirt or earrings or whatever, move it way up or way to the back and save that as a separate file before adding it to your model. this way you wont have to dodge around the rest of your models physics in order to move one thing. trust me, this has saved my life. please love yourself.
-for furniture, if you're going to add it to a room i'd suggest not moving it in pmx view!! use transformview, move it to where you like, then save the model as a separate room directly from transformview. the reason i say this is because transformview shows you how it'll act in MMD, so when you move it that way all bones and sliders should stay in place and won't get warped. this is ESPECIALLY important if the furniture has x-rotation bones because those bones are adjusted only to move on a certain axis, and if you move them around with pmdview instead of transformview those rotation bones WILL GET MESSED UP
-some things in the searches will have passwords. some are easier to get than others. this is just a guide of search terms and tags, i will not tell you any passwords as this guide will not focus on every individual download posted. if you figure out a password, do not share it among others and DO NOT reupload the model elsewhere to "help" others bypass the password. that's just a dick move.
-also important to note is most of the clothing and such are not modeled on regular bases. they may be modeled completely independently, or made to fit a base the modeler themselves created. you will need to put in some effort to make some of the clothing fit your model, and some modelers (namely natsuka) tend to include a lot of sliders in their stuff to help you make it fit better.

all in all, just be respectful and we won't have any problems.

also!
seiga and nicovideo are on the same website.
seiga is the branch for still images and comics.
nicovideo is for... well, videos.

sometimes you'll find things only on seiga that dont have a video.
sometimes you'll find things only on nicovideo that dont have a still image.
sometimes you'll find things that have posts voth as a video and as a still image.

personally, i tend to stick just to seiga most of the time because i prefer it immensely, but if you want to be thorough, you'll have to look into both.

you can search tags between both easily though!

all these links will be to seiga, but you can easily turn it into a nicovideo link by taking "seiga" out of the "seiga.nicovideo.jp" link. easy as pie

this entire list will be updated over time as i find more tags to search through!
(also please excuse the < /span > bullshit going on i couldnt figure out how the fuck to get rid of that mostly bc of dA's terrible coding)

にゃんたろう - Nyantarou/Nyantarox, a modeler who makes really high-detail shoes
いつものほん - Itsumonohon/Itsumo no hon, a modeler who makes a lot of different kinds of flowers
黒猫屋 - Kuronekoya, makes really nice looking and high quality accessories!

EXTRA NOTES

*my own PC is set to a Japanese locale. you know how sometimes you download an effect or a model and when you extract it, the names are in gibberish, the model's textures are gibberish so the model turns out white and you have to cross ur fingers and hope the gibberish-encoded effect works? a japanese locale will help IMMENSELY with that. under a japanese locale, the japanese filenames extract the way they should, so there's no gibberish to be seen. you don't absolutely have to have a japanese locale, as you can correct texture names by juggling renaming files and reassigning them via PMD/Xe, but it sure does help a lot and takes off a lot of work.
*some of the searches may include things that aren't being distributed. most of them are generic tags, so unless the word "distribution" is in the tag, you may get some stuff that's for download and some that's not.
*you don't really NEED a nico/seiga account to download most of this stuff, but it definitely helps. i'm not sure how the sites look logged out (i have never once logged out of my nico account), you should be fine as long as you can see the description though.
*if you can't find a tag that narrows things down to exactly the thing you're looking for, general tags are your friend. you may or may not find exactly what you need and it may take you longer to find it, but along the way you might find some other cool stuff!

if you have any suggestions or questions, let me know and i'll do my best to answer them!

also forgive me if theres errors or typos or whatever it took me like 2 hours to compile this and my eyes are buggin the fuck out on me

i don't think there is one, since so many model heads differ from each other so it's difficult to make hair that can fit on any type o: ill take a look later when i'm not on mobile; in the meantime u could probably take a translation (either in kanji or hiragana or w/e, google translate can give u a bunch of spellings) to seiga and just type "MMD -japanese translation for hair-" and search it that way 0:

no idea, i even went back and tried to change the links to their respective characters but it just did the same thing again

my suggestion would be to highlight the name of the tag you need, copy it, and then replace everything after /tag/ in the URL with the original tag

i already mentioned it at the top of the description but i'll copypaste it again

"a link should say something like
nicovideo.jp/tag/somethingsomething

the something may appear as several other characters, such as "MMD%E8%A3%85%E9%A3%BE%E3%82%A2%E3%82%AF%E3%82%BB".

simply copy the japanese characters i've provided which link to the tag (select it and ctrl+c or right click and copy), go to the space after /tag/ and replace the somethingsomething/random characters with the japanese text. the links should work in that format. "

firstly, are you logged in with a twitter account (or another account they link to, like a facebook)? and if so, is the correct age displayed?
second, it might be according to your own bowlroll settings. in order to view adult content on bowlroll, you'll need to enable it via your user settings. you can access this by going to your home page after logging in with bowlroll, and clicking the edit tab
if you're logged in, this link should take you straight to editing: bowlroll.net/home/edit
you can use google translate on the page, or if you're on mobile or else can't translate it, the option for viewing adult content will be the first check box under "その他設定"

yes, there is !

seiga.nicovideo.jp/tag/MMD…

and just in case the link isn't working/the characters are changed, you can simply type up to /tag/ in seiga's url and add MMD動物 after it! i'll also go ahead n add it to the description too

they seem to all be sorted under the general animals tag, but i found a few dogs for u (non-mascot shaped ones at least, meaning theyre on all fours and not standing)

seiga.nicovideo.jp/seiga/im566…
seiga.nicovideo.jp/seiga/im524…
seiga.nicovideo.jp/seiga/im657…
seiga.nicovideo.jp/seiga/im581…
seiga.nicovideo.jp/seiga/im489… (this one has more of a wolf than a dog but some retexturing/editing might do the trick, assuming editing is allowed)
seiga.nicovideo.jp/seiga/im475… (again, more wolf and also way more fantasy but still worth mentioning bc dang that looks cool)
seiga.nicovideo.jp/seiga/im423…

theres not a whole lot bc like i said, animal skeletons/rigging are a lot harder to do in mmd bc most modelers know how to set IK bones n stuff for human shaped models but since animals are more rare its harder to determine what settings their bones need

they work fine on my browsers, but if ur having issues with it its probably due to the browser changing japanese characters into numbers

to fix it u can highlight the japanese tag (the links themselves are accessed by the japanese tag) and copy it and replace the weird string of numbers a browser might change it to
replacing the numbers/botched tag in the URL with the original japanese characters should fix the issue

i'll go ahead and try to fix some of the links when i have time tho

this post is strictly about nico/seiga and is not a help thread

but to answer your question, to get two different eye colors you need to select the vertices of the eye you want to change and separate it
the first half of this tutorial here is about the texture itself so if you have that part done already you can skip to the part about the separation:
fav.me/d5dnes6
altho TDA's eyes are on the same layer as the eyelashes and stuff so just be aware of that when changing your textures

maybe you could add motion dls?
no one cares about dance videos anymore, but still

MMDモーション (mmd motion)
MMDモーション配布あり (mmd motion distribution)

the first one's better to search on bowlroll (not as a tag, just search...no one tags things there...) but on nicovideo, it gets a lot of irrelevant stuff
the second is better for nicovideo
